MDJ & Son'sTRUCK & TRAILER REPAIR

For operations running more than one truck

Fleet services

Most shops that want your fleet work have never had to keep one running. We have. MDJ Services LLC runs 9 trucks and 12 trailers out of this same yard, and this shop is what keeps them on the road. When we tell you what a PM interval should be, it is the interval we hold ourselves to.

PM programs built to your duty cycle

A truck running plant gates in Port Neches and a truck running I-10 to Baton Rouge do not wear the same way, and putting them on the same interval means one is over-serviced and the other is breaking down. We set intervals against how your trucks actually work — miles, hours, idle time, and duty — and put it in writing so your dispatch can schedule around it instead of reacting to it. See what a PM covers.

DOT compliance support

Two certified DOT inspectors work here — Luke Dugas and Mark Dugas Jr. — so annual periodic inspections happen here rather than at a third party on their schedule. For a fleet, the useful part is sequencing: we work through your units a few at a time so you are never grounding half the fleet in the same week, and you get told what failed, what is legal but marginal, and what is fine.

Drop-and-go trailer service

Trailers do not need a driver sitting with them. Drop it, tell us what it needs, and pick it up when it is done. Lights, wiring, air systems, brakes, suspension and air bags, landing gear, king pins, wheel seals, and welding all get handled without a tractor tied up waiting.

Somewhere secure to leave it

Our yard is gated and covered by security cameras. That is the part that actually matters when you are deciding whether to leave company equipment somewhere overnight — your units sit behind a gate, not on a public shoulder or an open truck stop lot. There is room to stage and sequence multi-truck work, so you can bring several in at once without your drivers waiting on a bay.

One person to deal with

Marcus Dugas runs operations for both companies — dispatch and customer contact on the carrier side, scheduling and communication on the shop side, with estimates coming from Luke. For a fleet manager that means one number, one person who knows your equipment, and no getting handed between a service writer and whoever answered the phone.

What we will tell you up front

We are a small shop, not a twenty-bay dealer network. Engine rebuilds, in-frame work, and transmission internals go to a builder, and we are not a 24/7 operation. If your fleet needs a shop that never closes, we are not it and we will say so on the first call rather than after you have moved your account. What we are is a shop that runs its own trucks on the same roads yours do, with a named inspector and room in the yard.

Why us

We are a trucking company that fixes trucks

We run a 9-truck fleet of our own. MDJ Services LLC — same family, same yard, same gate — keeps 9 trucks and 12 trailers moving flatbed, step deck, and end dump freight on I-10. Every one of them is maintained right here, by this crew, in these bays.

Fleet questions

How many trucks do we need to run for this to make sense?

There is no minimum. The difference between fleet work and one-off repair here is scheduling and records, not volume. If you run two trucks and want them on a PM interval instead of on surprises, that is a fleet account.

Can we drop trailers without an appointment?

Call so we know it is coming and who to reach, then yes. The yard is gated with cameras on site, and a dropped trailer is not blocking anything, so it gets worked when the bay opens rather than waiting on a slot.

Do you do mobile DOT inspections for fleets?

No — inspections are shop-only, for anybody. Bring the units to the yard and one of our two certified DOT inspectors runs them. For a fleet that usually means scheduling a few at a time rather than all at once.

What are your PM intervals and what is included?

That gets set per fleet, against how your trucks actually run — plant work and short-cycle duty need a different interval than highway miles. Send us what you run and how you run it and we will put a written program together. The PM service page lists everything a service covers.

Do you publish fleet pricing?

Not on this site. Fleet work is quoted against your equipment and schedule. Send the details and Marcus will come back with numbers.
