About the shop

Mark Dugas Jr. owns MDJ Services LLC and is the lead technician here. Thirty-plus years as a mechanic, and not all of it on trucks — heavy equipment, diesel, race cars, air boats, and metal fabrication, including ten years rebuilding transmissions. That range is why he is good at the electrical and diagnostic work most shops would rather hand off: he has met the same failure in half a dozen different machines. Luke Dugas is a technician, a certified DOT inspector, and the one who writes your estimate. He also runs our mobile diagnostics — so he is the one under your truck at inspection time and the one reading it on the shoulder. Mark is a certified DOT inspector as well, which means two of them here can run an annual. Marcus Dugas runs operations for both companies. He dispatches the carrier's nine trucks daily and drove semis himself for six years, so whether it is a dispatcher or a driver on the other end of the phone, he has already been on that side of the call. Two more technicians work the bays alongside them. Five of us altogether — four in the shop, Marcus on operations. Small enough that the person who looked at your truck is the person you can ask about it.

Diagnosis before parts. A derate with a dash light can be a sensor, a chafed wire, a dosing fault, or a genuinely loaded filter, and those are four different invoices. We find out which one before anybody buys anything.

Straight answers about what we do not do. Engine rebuilds, in-frame engine work, and transmission internals go to a builder. Mark rebuilds engines for our own fleet, so the knowledge is here — it is just not a service we sell. DOT inspections are shop-only. No RVs or buses. Saying it early is cheaper for you than finding out late.

Mark and Marcus both hold a Class A CDL. That matters more than it sounds: a truck with a driveability complaint gets road-tested by one of us before it goes back to you, instead of the driver being asked whether it feels right now.

Honest hours. Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm, Saturday 8:00am – 12:00pm, closed Sunday. After hours is by call and is not guaranteed. We are not going to advertise 24/7 service we cannot staff, and we are not going to promise a response time we cannot hold. If we can roll, you will know in the first two minutes. If we cannot, you will hear that instead of waiting on us.
